Final Adoption

IT'S OFFICIAL!! We received a very exciting phone call from our social worker this past Friday (April 11th) who had just received a phone call from the government saying that Brady and Kadan were officially ours and that all the documents had been stamped by the government. Yahoo! Thank you God! We also can't say thank you enough to those who have been praying for this process from the very beginning! It has been just short of year (Wednesday May 30th) that we got our first phone call from CAS to say they had a possible match. That following Friday (June 1st - a day we will never forget) we spent about an hour and a half learning as much as we could about these two boys. Every passing minute we were convinced that these were the two! By the end of the meeting, and by the time we looked at their pictures (they save the pictures until after they share the 20 page document on their history =), Ryan and I knew without a doubt that these were the two God had in his plan for us. We had not yet talked to each other because we were in the middle of the meeting, but there was no discussion as we left because we were both convinced this was it. Our social worker at that time said to think about it over the weekend and to give her a call back on Tuesday. We stopped for dinner on the way home and shared our very similiar feelings and throughout the weekend didn't need to discuss whether it was yes or no, but needed to pray for God to prepare these two little lives for us, and our lives for them! Now, almost a year later, we are just as excited as that first meeting that it's official!
We hope and pray that our journey with CAS is not over and that God will continue to use us somehow within this organization. Whether it be going to panel night to share this miracle with others just starting their adoption journey, whether it's to take a course in order to share with others the miracle of adoption over a weekend course (which has been on hold since the news of the twins), or whether it's to open our doors again to relief fostering, we pray that God will continue to use us as a witness through this organization!
